Origin and Appearance

Clydesdale is a Scottish heavy draft-horse breed originated from near the River Clyde  in Lanarkshire, Scotland. They are easy to spot, thanks to their dark brown or black coat with prominent white markings, large stature, trademark feathering around their legs and high-stepping gait.

Temperament and Personality

Clydesdales are the largest horse in the farm, making them a natural leader, highly intelligent and cold-blooded horses (a name given to descendants of the ancient European breeds used for farming, hauling and other types of heavy work). They are known for being very stubborn but still calm, patient and adaptive to changing situations. The characteristics of the Clydesdale is a strong, energetic, gentle and easygoing horse.
