Origin and Appearance

Its official name is Irish harness horse, Irish Cob and Gypsy Vanner but in countries such as Germany and Holland, the term “Tinker” is more common. They are easy to spot, thanks to their pied colour (light or, conversely, the dark body is filled with spots of the opposite colour), strong, well-built body, powerful with broad, strong muscles. The appearance also reveals an elegant wildness: a low withers, a beautiful neck bend, a rough head, long ears and a smooth and shiny mane, withers and tail. The Tinker horse breed sometimes has a blue roan colour, meaning that their coat consists of evenly mixed black and white hairs, giving the coat a blue-grey colour.
Temperament and Personality
The breed is originated from a cold-blooded background knowing for having a mild temperament and being relaxed, respectful, friendly and polite. However, Tinkers can also be warm-blooded, known for a high level of stubbornness and strong temperament. Overall they are intelligent, strong-willed , kind, quick, noble and proud. Strong, athletic and social creatures eager for friendship.
